  • The Department of Electrical Engineering was established during the inception of the institute in 2008. It took a pioneering role in establishing the undergraduate program in Electrical engineering (2010). This Department has been actively engaged in teaching and research in its field. The major areas of faculty expertise include Electrical Engineering, Power System, Control System, Electrical Devices & Power System, Energy Management and many more. This department has experience and young team of excellent faculty from eminent institutions of our country Like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT’s), National Institute of Technology (NIT’s), Calcutta University (West Bengal), Jadavpur University (West Bengal), Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (West Bengal). Though the Electrical Engineering Department has been established only recently, the Electrical Engineering Section existed in the institute for over last 6 years. The B.TechElectrical Engineering program of the institute comprised of the Electrical Engineering input and subjects like Electrical Technology, Circuits & Measurements, Electrical Machines, Control System, Electrical Drives, Power Systems, Power Electronics and Field Theory had been taught to the B.Tech. Beside this, the Electrical Engineering Section also catered to various other Electrical Engineering subjects like Utilization of Electrical Energy, Applied Electrical Engineering etc. to other departments. The Electrical Engineering Department has a history of strong R&D base and it has produced a number of good students in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The Department has been actively engaged in industrial visit to several power generating stations and also different reputed company. The Department is strong with most of faculty members holding M.Tech degrees and involved in schedule study and research works in various fields. The broad areas of expertise include State Estimation and Real Time Control of Power Systems, Applications of ANN and Fuzzy Logic in Power Systems, Power System Deregulation, Power System Transients, Power Quality, EMTP applications in Power Systems, Relay Coordination, Application of Power Electronics to Power Quality Improvement and Industrial Drives, DSP controlled Drives, Simulation of Power Electronic Converters and Drives Systems and Control of Special Machines.
